Allow me to introduce myself.
I am Marilin Malone Bass, the founder of Nursing Stroke Coach. In the fall of 2018, after working as a Registered Nurse for approximately 37 years, I decided it was time for me to serve a larger audience via stroke education and health coaching.
I am a Mom, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother.
Stroke is a very devastating disease affecting persons worldwide. According to World Stroke Organization (WSO), more than 13.7 million new strokes occur each year. Stroke results in disability and sometimes death.
Here is my story.
My siblings and I are at an increased risk for stroke since my maternal side has significantly been affected by stroke. This truth, along with my experience working at the bedside of stroke survivors for 30 years, created a passion within me to do whatever I can to help prevent and manage stroke. Thus, I created Nursing Stroke Coach to reach out to stroke survivors, persons at risk for stroke, caregivers, family members of stroke survivors, and the general community.
Services
Education on various topics pertaining to stroke, stroke prevention, and stroke management for the general population via blog articles and free community stroke seminars.
Online Courses are designed specifically for caregivers or family members managing the care of stroke survivors within a home setting. Later, there would be courses added for nurses.
Health coaching at a reasonable cost, for individuals who are trying to manage diabetes, hypertension/high blood pressure, overweight/obesity, and high cholesterol. These conditions are risk factors for stroke.
